After a long career in music Helen decided to do a Fine Art course at the City Lit, followed by a Fine Art degree at The Cass School of Art, London Metropolitan University, where she graduated in 2014.

Initially Helen takes photographs, which form the basis of her screen prints.  She responds spontaneously to visual images, which excite her, whatever the content. A chance arrangement of shapes attracts Helen in relation to light, shadows and reflections. Lines crossing each other create an energy found particularly in modern buildings and building sites with scaffolding. Patterns develop through the printed layers. Helen is very much influenced by patterns of music created through the sounds and observing the musical score. Printing on Perspex, resulting in a 3D arrangement, gives a varied view of shapes and reflections seen from different angles.
